Jake sighed, resting his head in his hands. Maybe he was just in over his head. Maybe Flip wasn't the one he'd been searching for, for as long as he could remember. Maybe to Flip, he was just another one night stand. He frowned at the thought, and looked over to Flip out of the corner of his eye. Maybe that was all true.. but he was determined to make this one work. He grit his teeth, and slowly outstretched his left hand to meet with Flip's, gently holding onto it, scooting a bit closer to the boy, biting his lower lip.

(Sorry if I'm a bit rusty. It's been a while, lol.)

Flip didn't want to ruin the movie so he stayed quiet but he really wanted to speak his mind. Worry was consuming him; he didn't want to loose the young male that he had grown close to. He didn't want this to end; it seemed far too good but he needed to know what he wanted and what he expected of him because if he wanted something he couldn't give then he would not be enough and he would have to move on. He wanted so desperately to make him happy if only he would let him. "Jake we should talk after the film. I would really like to say something." He took the hand and gently pet it with his own soft velvet fur.

Jake nodded softly, appreciating the tender way Flip touched him. He'd been touched quite a few times, but he'd never been touched in this way. It felt sincere, and honest. It felt caring. His round, green eyes observed Flip's face. It, as well, seemed sincere, and honest, and caring. "Okay." He spoke softly, flashing a soft smile. Perhaps he wasn't in over his head. His friends had always told him he'd find the one. Perhaps, now he finally had.

When outside after the movie Flip felt his heart pound in his chest which made it hard for him to think let alone hear his own thoughts. He wasn't good at confrontation and when he was put to it he always lost his words and got sidetracked. "Jake..I ugh...uh.." He swallowed feeling his palms get sweaty as he looked like he was ready to pace. "I'm not good at these sort of things..." He then turned and looked to the ground and began to walk back and forth. "Okay look. I am not a dominant male. I feel like I am a inferior person because I honestly don't take charge. Most like to do stuff in public and be risky but I am sky and I don't like PDA and I avoid affection unless it is in the confinement of a safe home environment. I am just sorry to say I may not be what you want but I do really like you and would like to stay with you if you let me."

The fox sighed, watching the other male pace. "I know you aren't." He replied with a gentle sigh. "But... Maybe, in time, we can learn to compromise. To understand each other's weaknesses and focus on what we have in common, instead of our differences." Granted, he was a little disappointed. His past lovers had been much more... forward. But, for Flip, he was willing to try. He wasn't going to let another lover slip through his fingers. He bit his lip, his tail swishing around playfully. "I'm willing to try if you are." His eyes softened, reflecting an aura of generosity, and compassion.

That's right compromise; it was as if he had forgotten the word entirely until he had said something about it. He rubbed his chin as his tall ears flicked; tail erect and wagging as if he was lost in a curious sort of thought or conversation with his own mind. Being bumped into by another person brought him back and he apologized promptly then looked to Jake and smiled, "We can make it more fun, why don't we write down what we expect of each other. No high expectations just for fun.. like some people want a lover with a job or non-smelly feet; someone that has a cool car or that can cook. It could be fun. We can make it fun. And then we can laugh about it but understand what we need to do to make us work well." He blushed feeling rather silly about his outburst but he thought it a cleaver and fun way to engage in the relationship.

The idea tickled him. As childish as it may have seemed, it sounded like a rather fun time. "Alright." Jake smiled, letting out a soft chuckle. "It's a plan. We can do it later tonight. Your place or mine, doesn't matter. But we're not done just yet." He said with a wink, taking Flip my the hand. "There's somewhere else I want us to go."

Grinning smugly, the fox lead his bunny buddy down the sidewalk, taking an extended stroll around the city, chatting the whole time. He told Flip all about the things he'd done in the city. The people he'd met, the food he'd eaten, the trouble he'd gotten into. He loved it. If there was one place he belonged, it was in the city. Eventually, as the sun began to set, they found themselves strolling down a small alley, between a convenience store and a record store. "This way." Jake signaled, knocking twice on the small black door, located at the end of the alleyway.

Flip was glad he accepted the idea so easily. He had thought it was a witty way to get them into each others minds and wants. It was like making a list of what you wanted in a partner and the other could kind of give it a push in order to make it work.

Following Jake he smiled glad to hear about his history in the city. He honestly knew nothing of the city as he was used to country life. When being asked his place or Jake's he turned a bit pale but was gad that he was not called out on it as he continued.

Looking to the record shop and the small quick mart he kept his hand still with Jake and followed down the alley and raised a brow at the door, "Um... Jake... where are we going? What is this place?" He looked along the door then the alley worried they may be in bad company but he was sure Jake meant him well. He let out a small sigh and smiled ready to face the challenge and new adventures with Jake.

Jake hesitated for a moment as no one came to the door. They stood there silently for a few seconds before the door jolted open, out popping the head of a slightly older German Shepherd. The man's eyes narrowed as he took the cigar from his lips, rolling it between his fingers. "And what do you two think you're doing here?" He asked in a surprisingly deep, gruff voice. Jake quietly placed his hand on his hip, glaring back up to him. "Oh, you know I'm just fuckin' with ya." The shepherd chuckled deeply, stepping aside. "C'mon in, Jakey."

Jake rolled his eyes, returning his attention to Flip. For a moment, he questioned his decision making skills, and whether or not Flip would actually enjoy the environment that waited behind the small door, emitting the muffled sounds of loud dance music and conversation. Biting his tongue, the boy took took Flip's hands as gently as he could, locking eyes with his companion. "Do you trust me?" He asked in a genuinely caring tone, trying his best to be as reassuring as possible.

His tender palms slowly caressed the backs of Flip's hands, silently awaiting the boy's response.

When nothing happened Flip gazed around rather anxious feeling his heart beat increase from a small fear of whatever this place was. Door swinging open the rabbit squeaked and jumped back some seeing the canine breed and shuddered seeing his gruff look.

A sigh of relief as he seemed to notice Jake and had stepped aside for them. When confronted and his hand was taken he looked up to Jake a bit confused then to the door hearing music and some chit-chat. Giving a simple smile he nodded and took his hand firmly, "Yes'm let's give et a go then." His Irish accent heavy as he tried to stay calm and give his partner the trust he deserved.

The fox smiled out of relief, pecking the boy's nose. Quickly sliding past the Shepherd, Jake eagerly led Flip down a long, dark corridor. The muffled beats and the sounds of chatter seemed to grow louder with every step they took. Stopping just before the end of the hallway, Jake turned to his companion one last time, giving him a playful pat on the rear, before leading him to the left, through a pair of black curtains.

Suddenly, the entire room was filled with the sounds of a thousand conversations, followed by blaring dance music. The walls of the rather massive room were pitch black, give or take a few signatures and phone numbers, as well as graffiti. There were no lights. Instead, the majority of the room was illuminated by thousands of glowsticks, dancing lasers, and flashing lights. Hundreds of people filled the room,
dancing and mingling with each other. In the corner of the room stood a DJ table, and beyond that, a bar. Two men in particular, a large grey shark and a rather skimpy looking wolf, immediately greeted Jake, handing him, as well as Flip, a few glowsticks.

"Jakey!" The wolf exclaimed, hugging him tightly, "Good to see you're back. And you brought a friend!"

The long dark hallway made him more nervous feeling as if it were a scene from a horror flick; the music told him otherwise and mostly it was the smile of Jake that allowed him to follow him at all. When passing the curtains his eyes had to adjust to the flashing lights and darkness, it was now he realized it was like a rave or some sort of party. He had been to a few but most of them you didn't have to knock on a side door.

When at the bar he looked to the Shark feeling especially small then the wolf's gaze brought him back to his train of thoughts and actions and brought a hand up slowly waving and kind-a squeaked a 'ello'.

"Sure did." Jake smiled, ignoring the butt-slap he received from the shark. He gently elbowed Flip, giggling at his response. "This is Flip." He said, resting his head on his lover's shoulder.

The wolf's eyes widened a bit with realization, grinning smugly. "I see." He quickly scanned the bunny, before nodding, flashing a friendly smile. "This way."

Jake quickly followed the wolf, dragging Flip along with him as they made their way through the crowd. Multiple people stopped to greet Jake, as if they already knew him. Jake would simply smile politely, and wave back. Eventually they made their way through another pair of black curtains, finding themselves in a much classier looking room, full of rather decorative (and extremely comfortable) looking furniture, as well as another, more extensive bar. The wolf gestured to the corner of the room, where a few lounge chairs sat surrounding a small coffee table. Jake thanked the man, and quickly led Flip across the room, plopping himself down into one of the select chairs, crossing his legs, glancing up to the bunny with an eager smile.

Seeing the wolf eye him he stayed firm but a small tremble caused him to stiffen. When the shark had slapped Jake's ass he grew a bit jealous but ignored it and followed him through the crowd. Seeing so many people stop Jake he wondered why Jake had such interest in him because all these other beautiful people he could be with. Ignoring this thought he looked around the more relaxing room and was able to hear much better now and slowly looked to Jake, "So... This is a private rave? They aren't doing drugs or anything right? I mean the side entrance makes me worry a bit."

Jake laughed heartily as Flip's assumption, and shook his head. "No. No drugs here. Not that I know of." He smiled, patting the seat next to him. "I guess you could say its a private rave. More of a club, really.' It's very underground, though. Not too many people know about it. I just figured that, since you said you wanted us to get to know each other, this would be the perfect spot.

Jake paused as yet another German Shepherd approached them, a tray full of drinks in his hand. "Drinks?"

Smiling, Jake accepted the offer, taking a glass, and thanking the man. He turned to look at Flip, a reassuring look of "no pressure" in his eyes.

Flip saw him pat the seat beside him and slowly moved over to him and sat beside him on the cozy couch. Adjusting his seating he sat back and stared at him, "Get to know you better here?" Seeing the doberman come he looked at the drink and shook his head, "I am actually sober.. Thank you though." He kept his head down momentarily then returned it to Jake, "How is being here going to help me get to know you? We could just go back to your sisters and chat too... But here is fine too I guess." He looked around the room absorbing the atmosphere enjoying it wasn't too loud here.

Jake frowned slightly hearing this. Perhaps he hadn't made the best decision in bringing him here. "I didn't mean..." He sighed, chuckling softly. "You're probably right. Maybe another time.  I just figured..." He paused, eyeing the rim of his glass, before shrugging, and downing the rest.

He stood, brushing himself off, shaking his tail out. Why had he thought Flip would have enjoyed this? The large crowd, the loud noise. Thinking for a moment, a spark lit up in his mind, and it showed on his face. "Come with me." He said, quickly grabbing Flip, escorting him across the room, and out the back entrance. "I think I know just where to go." He grinned, wrapping his arm protectively around Flip's torso.

"You misunderstand! I didn't mind where we were I just thought you would want to do it more so at your home or in bed not out or about. I mean I don't mind really." He rubbed the back of his neck but gasped when his hand was taken and once more they were on the move and he quickly followed so as not to lose his footing.

"Jake, I really don't mind where we go so long as we are together." A soft smile crossed his small rabbit face as he followed, "But I will go with your anywhere you want."

Jake couldn't help but smile. Flip was always so willing to please other people, setting himself aside to make others happy. Perhaps that was why he felt so close to him. The boy's warmhearted nature was unlike those of lovers past. He paused for a moment, turning to peck Flip on the cheek. "Hush, now." He said, cupping Flip's cheeks. "You'll ruin the surprise."

Some time later, they found themselves far from the club, the crisp breeze flowing through Jake's hair. "Keep your eyes shut, now. If you peek, I'll yank yer lil' tail off." He said with a giggle, hugging Flip closely. "Alright, now. Here we are." Jake took a step back, admiring the scenery. He'd lead them straight back to the park where they'd first met that day, now illuminated by the moonlight and reflections from the glistening lake on the other side of the field.

"Aaaaaaand Open."

Upon being shush'ed quietly he nodded and simply smiled as he let Jake lead him on. Being unfamiliar to the city he looked around unsure which direction they were going let alone where they had been but that didn't matter now; what had mattered now was that he wanted him to shut his eyes.

Closing them he clung to Jake's soft paw and was careful of his footing trying to make sure he wouldn't trip up. Pausing he slowly opened his eyes when told to and let them adjust to the scenery of the dark. Looking around the area, "Wait..." He moved in more as the moon lit the area, "This is where.." Looking to the bench he jumped on it and stood on it, "We met here." He smiled and looked to the fountain then the small playground to the right  and a large open field right of them along a treeline. "This place brings many great memories." He touched his chest feeling a fluttering sensation.

Jake smiled, taking a seat next to his bunny buddy, resting his head atop the boy's shoulder. "I suppose I could say the same thing..." He felt his cheeks blushing, and hid them in Flip's shirt. "I just.. wanted to thank you.... Today has been one of the best days I've had in a long time. I'm not really much of a people person, but I feel like I can be for you. You're different. I like that. And I hope you feel the same way."

Sighing, Jake glanced up to his companion, admiring the young man's face as the moonlight shone through his fur. He felt unusually calm and safe around Flip. Something he hadn't felt in a long, long time.

Flip smiled and put his arm around Flip and brushed his ears and scratched gently along his fur, "Thanks for bringing me here. Brings back such fond memories. Besides this place being where I met you, this is like the only home I have had. Interacting with people here has made my life much better. I was very luck to meet you that day Jake."

Giving a soft smile his eyes then gazed out to the distance and to the fountain watching the water splash off the pooling water, "Your sister won't worry over us for being too late will she?" He asked slightly concerned hoping that the girl wouldn't mind them being out longer.

Jake smiled as he listened to Flip speak, holding the boy close in his arms as well. "And I'm lucky that you met me." He said softly, his green eyes illuminated by the moonlight. The fox slowly lay back in the grass, resting his hands behind his head. "Xena? She shouldn't worry about us, I'm always in and out. She knows the lifestyle I lead. Sometimes I'll be gone for days at a time. But I always end up coming back home. She's one of the few people I have left in this world." Jake spoke, gazing up to the stars.

Flip took a long moment to gather all his thoughts; thinking off everything that had transpired in only the past day. Meeting this fox, making love to him, fighting off his room mate Mandrake from him, meeting his tiger friend and fearing him but still apologizing for it then the whole movie theater scene and how he didn't want to do PDA of that extent and how he had each time turned and tried to walk away from him; so many mixed signals and now he could finally clear things up.

"Jake, things haven't been easy for us. There are a LOT of things we need to work on and I don't want to blame you for everything and at the same time I know I am at fault too.
First off Mandrake; you let me cum inside you when we made love... why didn't you want him to?
Two meeting Zeke. I really did try to apologize and make things right. I even left the tip there because I had felt bad for it being free. I can't change my instincts of fearing larger breeds. I can try to be better about it though. I really will try on my part.
Three, the movies. You can't just jump in my lap and expect me to just stop everything and just start a scene... It is a public place that has other people there. I'm not about to have other people watching us try to be intimate. It's rude and inappropriate for public.
Four, I see it in your eyes. You think I'm just interest in a one night stand. If that's what you truly think; I am going to walk away now. I never wanted sex with you. I wanted a friendship. I never had expectations of sex of any kind. And after doing so I feel we have something more but at the same time seeing all those people in the club; why would you ever chose a looser like me. I'm not dominant like what you want; I'm not into being a top... I don't know what you want from me. And I don't know what I can do to make you happy. You being so girly I wonder if you would need a more manly person with you and we should just stay friends. Do you know how disappointing it is for me to feel like I can't stay because I don't fit in the equation?"

A pause as he let that sit and and looked at him feeling more low about himself thinking he was the problem and brushed his ears down as they fell back down, "What is it about your past... you said you'd tell me why the way you are. Maybe that's all I need; I need to know what happened and why you are the way you are. I just don't understand... And not knowing makes me feel I am the problem and to save you the trouble; I should leave."
